About STA Membership - Who We Are - What We Do - How to Apply
STA is an Organizational Membership Association comprised of Producers and Presenters of Shakespeare’s works. Associate Membership is also a possibility.
Full Organizational Membership
Full Organizational Membership is open to any producing theatre organization worldwide that is involved with the production/presentation of Shakespeare's plays. STA membership now includes over 125 theatres, representing diverse types (indoor, outdoor, year-round, seasonal, university-affiliated, free) with wide ranging budgets ($1,000 to over $60,000,000 USD) and Equity as well as non-Equity companies. Despite our diversity, the artistic, educational, and managerial issues we face as individual organizations are, quite often, common to us all. Organizational membership is open to those theaters who have been producing/presenting Shakespeare for one full year or more. Current Producing/Presenting Organizations (who have been producing an annual season for one year or more) MUST apply as Full Organizational Members to Join STA.
Annual dues for all membership categories:
Budget Size - Under US $100,000 Dues: US $200
Budget Size - US $100,000 - $499,999 Dues: US $325
Budget Size - US $500,000 - $1,499,999 Dues: US $450
Budget Size - US $1,500,000 - $4,999,999 Dues: US $575
Budget Size - US $5,000,000+ Dues: US $690
Organizational or Individual Associate Membership - US $125

Associate Membership
Don’t fit the Producing Organizational Membership description? Are you planning to start a company but have just begun?
Organizational Associate Membership is available primarily to folks who are planning to form a Company but have not yet completed a full season. The expectation will be that Organizational Associates will move to full Organizational Membership within three years. Individual Associate Membership may be an option in some cases. Associate Member dues are applicable and Associate Membership does not come with voting rights within STA.
