Starling Shakespeare Company

Our Mission

Starling Shakespeare Company’s work amplifies the playfulness and honesty in Shakespeare’s plays.

Shakespeare was writing between about 1590 and 1613 — the height of the Renaissance in England. It was an exciting time of explosive creativity and never-before-imagined ideas.

Today, despite all our tools and luxury, how often do we fail to make time to revel in joy, play, or creativity? Starling aims to close the gap between the creative energy of the Renaissance and today.

Our Vision

Theatre is a communal experience. That means it’s a dialogue - a conversation - with the audience.

We at Starling Shakespeare Company seek to become a leading voice in the Shakespeare community. But more important to us is bringing our willingness to learn to each community we visit.

We want an exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives everywhere we land, and we seek it from our audiences and within our community with humility and gratitude.
