Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Shakespeare Theatre Association.

Associate membership is comprised of three main categories: individual, organizational and lifetime. Associate member dues are applicable to each category. Associate membership confers all benefits of organizational membership except for voting rights, conference attendance and any other limitations as dictated by the bylaws of the organization. Participation in the annual conference is subject to limitation and acceptance by the executive, except for Lifetime Associate Members where the only limitation to conference attendance is that which applies to organizational members (i.e. payment of annual dues, overall conference attendance limitations).

Please use the application form linked below. All applications will be reviewed by the Executive Committee for approval. You will be contacted by STA with payment information. Annual dues are as follows:
Associate Member Dues: US $100
Please do not mail your annual dues until your application has been approved.

INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Individual Associate Membership is open to any individual whose activities are consonant with the aims and objectives of the organization. Individual Associate Members are expected to be of a level of experience to positively contribute to discussions and issues surrounding the production of Shakespeare's plays. All applications for Individual Associate Membership must be submitted to the Executive Committee for approval and demonstrate that membership is not primarily intended for financial gain of the applicant. Specifically, membership in this category is open to those who can demonstrate:

Regular involvement in Shakespeare production or with one or more primarily Shakespeare-producing companies, whereby such involvement includes key leadership roles in: management, directing, designing, educating, marketing, fundraising, dramaturgy, acting or advocacy; and/or efforts to create a new, regularly producing Shakespeare company and have personal and first-hand background/experience in Shakespeare production.

The Executive Committee WILL require the applicant to be "sponsored" by a current member in good standing of STA and will seek the advice from a senior representative of any STA member company for whom the applicant has worked as to the suitability of the applicant for associate membership.

ORGANIZATIONAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Organizational Associate Membership is open to any organization whose activities are consonant with the aims and objectives of the organization. All applications for Organizational Associate Membership must be submitted to the Executive Committee for approval. Specifically, membership in this category is open to those that can demonstrate: A. The provision of resources, information, research or materials useful to the ongoing operations of some or all of the organizational members, where the provision of such resources, information, research or materials is not primarily intended for financial gain of the applicant.

LIFETIME ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Lifetime Associate Membership is based on service to STA and, once granted, exists regardless of the lifetime associate member's current level of participation in Shakespeare production. Lifetime associate membership is comprised of three main sections: A. Any founding member of STA (representatives of those organizations who participated in the original organizational meeting on January 12, 1991). B. Any former President of STA. C. Any individual deemed deserving by the STA executive committee.
