OUR MISSION

The Shakespeare Theatre Association (STA) serves artistic, education, and management leaders of theatres whose primary focus is producing the works of William Shakespeare. It offers these leaders a forum to discuss issues and methods of work, to share resources and information, and to act as advocates for Shakespearean productions and training.

ABOUT ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Associate Membership is comprised of two main categories: Individual, and Organizational. Associate member dues are applicable to each category. Associate Membership (with the exception of STA Past Presidents) does not come with voting rights within the Organization. There may be other limitations as indicated by the bylaws of STA.

ORGANIZATIONAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Organizational Associate Membership is open to any Shakespeare-centric organization. All applications for Organizational Associate Membership must be submitted via the form below for approval by the Executive Committee of STA. This tier of membership is also a place for startup producing groups who are in the early stages of creating a new, regularly producing Shakespeare company. Organizations who have not yet produced a season fall into this category and would be eligible for full Organizational membership one year after the completion of their first full season.

The Executive Committee will require the Organizational applicant to be sponsored by a current voting Organizational member in good standing with STA (good standing meaning annual dues are current). Applicants are not automatically guaranteed membership in STA. Membership is subject to a majority vote of the STA Executive Committee and subject to periodic review by the Executive Committee.
