We Are Shakespeare is a loosely curated digital film festival that celebrates the diversity of the world-wide production and impact of Shakespeare’s plays in our digital age. Two to three minute pre-recorded film clips of short readings, performances, and testimonials about the impact of Shakespeare by political figures, cultural leaders, and Shakespeare lovers of every age and background will be streamed and remain on view in an open-access digital video platform. STA member theaters will be able to both create clips of their 400th Celebration performances as well as recruit local and national leaders for testimonials and submissions by patrons and students. Once the website is debuted with clips by member organizations, anyone will be able to post their own short digital films that adhere to the guidelines. STA is currently in conversation with the British Council on a major partnership to unite their Shakespeare Lives/All the World’s a Stage project with STA’s.

To Participate

In your video clip (3 minutes maximum), you are invited to respond to one or more of the following:

Why Shakespeare?
What is your personal connection to Shakespeare?
Do you have a Favorite Shakespeare memory?
Why should Shakespeare continue into the future?
Give us a taste of Shakespeare (play reading, performance, painting, film clips, etc.)

Guidelines & Criteria for Submissions

Users need to fill out a brief submission form to be subsequently sent a confirmation email that includes a link to upload their video.
